Happy Birthday Wakefield Pets as we quietly turned two!

July of 2024 changed the path of Wakefield Pets forever. I was doing some fantastic work on my own, caring for 50 - 75 households. I averaged 5-13 visits per day and I got to a point where I needed to make a decision; stop where I was, take on no new clients and let things be good enough or make Wakefield Pets a legit business so I could then hire a team and expand on the great thing I'd created. We obviously know what the choice was, on July 24th, 2024 Wakefield Pets became a legit business entity and we haven't looked back.

As I look back on the creation of Wakefield Pets, there was so much I knew I had to do, as building a business from scratch is not an easy thing to do. The past 2 years have been amazing, though. Yes, it's been a lot of work, yes, it's been a lot of stress but I'll tell you I wouldn't change a thing! I have been in touch with many wonderful people, from new and potential clients to new and potential employees to other fellow sitters and trainers in the area. Our service offerings have expanded from overnights to weddings! If I may...Seriously? Weddings?! That was never in the original plan, yet here we are handling pets on easily the biggest day of peoples lives! It's been the greatest honor to be able to serve the community in this way is just amazing.

We've grown organically. While our amazing marketing team, Shannon & Carolyn, work to spread the word of our existence it's been the word of mouth from you, our clients and connections with other, smaller pet sitters in the area that help to keep us on the path upwards. Our connections with other groups like The Senior Network, and Forever & Co have allowed us to focus our network so we can accomplish the community impact I'd always envisioned. it has been good, and we continue to make improvements and grow.

I am extremely fortunate to have the team I have, and while some may come and go, it is truly because of them Wakefield Pets has been successful, but also because of the clients who continuously place their trust in us day after day.
